Muscle at the mille
Muscle at the Mille is Vintage Supercars’ signature Italian rally: a curated, multi‑day driving experience that follows iconic Mille Miglia roads, combines countryside stages with historic towns, and pairs exceptional driving with five‑star hospitality. We ship rally‑ready cars from our California workshop and manage every logistical detail so you can focus on the road and the experience. The rally intentionally coincides with the official Mille Miglia event so participants drive the same historic public roads and share the atmosphere and spectacle — while remaining an independent, privately organized event.
Rally Itinerary
Day One (June 9): Brescia → Padua
The departure will take place in Brescia in the late morning. The cars will climb towards the Trompia Valley and the Gobbia Valley, before stopping in Lumezzane. After crossing the Cavallo Pass, the route will descend into the Sabbia Valley, skirt Lake Garda, travel through Vicenza and end the first day in Padua.
Day two (June 10): Padua → Montecatini Terme
The second leg will head west, passing through Ferrara, Modena, Reggio Emilia and crossing the Abetone Pass, before ending among the Art Nouveau buildings of Montecatini Terme.
Day three (June 11): Montecatini Terme → Rome
The third day will start with a trip to Versilia, passing through Pietrasanta, renowned for its sculpture and contemporary art. After lunch in the famous Piazza del Campo in Siena, the cars will continue towards Lake Bolsena and Lake Vico, arriving in the capital, the traditional turning point of the race.
Day four (June 12): Rome → Rimini
The journey north will pass through Assisi, on the occasion of the eighth centenary of the death of St Francis, then stop for lunch in Gubbio and the spectacular passage through the Furlo Gorge, ending in Rimini, overlooking the Adriatic Sea.
Day five (June 13): Rimini → Brescia
The last day of the official Mille Miglia will take the cars through the salt pans of Cervia and Comacchio, then Ferrara, where the route will cross that of the southbound journey. After a stop in Mantua, the finish is scheduled in Viale Venezia in Brescia, where the 1000 Miglia historically starts and finishes.
Day six (June 14): Brescia → Castiglione del Lago
Our journey home will pass through Parma foe a stop at a local checesefactor and farm, on to lunch in Lucca before heading through Florence to Castiglione del Lago. There you will have lodging for the Ning and will have to choose to either take your car and explore on your own, or take our shuttle to Rome.
Timing & relationship to the Mille Miglia
Our event runs concurrently with the official Mille Miglia. While we are not affiliated with or part of the official race, participants experience the same routes, towns, and the unique energy of the Mille Miglia field.
Because the Mille Miglia runs on open public roads, vehicles from both events frequently mix along the route. Vintage Supercars operates independently with its own car numbers, route control, and marshaling, and requires all participants to follow our safety protocols and local traffic laws.
We make no claim of official partnership or endorsement by the Mille Miglia organization.

Vehicle eligibility & prep
We welcome vintage European sports cars, resto‑mods, and classic American muscle that meet safety and reliability standards for multi‑day touring.
All cars must pass a pre‑event technical inspection; we have partner shops across the US that offer prep and upgrade services for those needing mechanical or safety work prior to shipping.
Book both the Muscle at the Mille and Trouble at the Targa in a single season and avoid repeat international shipping. We offer secure local storage, post‑event servicing, and re‑staging between rallies so your car remains in Italy and is ready for both events.
While your car is in Italy you’re free to use it. Take self‑guided tours, join local drives, or request our concierge to arrange hotels, private roads, mechanics, or outings on short notice. Between events we provide post‑run checks, servicing, and any prep needed for the next rally so you enjoy more seat time and less admin.
FAQs
What cars are eligible to join Muscle at the Mille?
We accept pre 78 vintage v8 sports cars, resto‑mods, and classic American muscle that meet our safety, reliability, and dimensional requirements. All cars must pass a pre‑event technical inspection. Contact us with photos and specs for a pre‑qualification review.
Do I need special insurance or licences to participate?
You must carry valid international driving licence documentation (your national licence; an IDP if your country requires it) and personal travel insurance covering motorsport‑adjacent activities. We require participants to sign our event waiver and to carry insurance that covers third‑party liability while driving abroad. We can advise on recommended policy language and providers.
What level of driving experience is required?
Participants should be comfortable driving high‑performance and manual‑transmission cars on narrow, sometimes fast public roads. Prior rallying, track days, or spirited touring experience is strongly recommended. We run driver briefings and offer lead/sweep support; novices can apply but may be asked to take a qualifying drive or coaching.
How does shipping, customs, and timing work?
We coordinate sea/air shipping and temporary import (carnet) documentation. Typical door‑to‑door timelines are 4–8 weeks for sea freight (longer at peak seasons) and shorter for air freight (costly). Bookings should be confirmed at least 10–12 weeks before the event to ensure smooth logistics; expedited options are available for an additional fee.
What on‑route support and safety measures are provided?
We provide lead and sweep cars, route marshals, medical standby, recovery truck, and local mechanical support. Daily vehicle checks are performed, and participants must follow our safety protocols and local traffic laws. We also supply emergency contact procedures and GPS tracking for the group.
What are the booking, deposit, cancellation, and transfer policies?
A non‑refundable deposit secures your place; final balance is due by the date in your contract (typically 60–90 days before the event). Cancellations before the final balance date may receive partial refunds minus expenses; cancellations after that date are generally non‑refundable. Transfers to another qualified participant are usually allowed with administrative fee and organizer approval. Exact terms are provided in the participant agreement.
